CNN has announced it will end its longreach promotion of its new series The Long Ride on July 1, 2018.
The network has been trying to attract new subscribers to its cable news and news-driven network CNN America.
The series debuted on July 11 and has been viewed more than 8.5 million times.
The show was picked up for a second season last month.
CNN’s president of news and entertainment, Jeff Zucker, said in a statement that CNN will “focus on continuing to serve our audiences with content that matters, while continuing to support our core audiences with the latest and greatest content.”
The network announced the change in a blog post on Tuesday, which described the show as “a smart, exciting, and entertaining series about the new frontier of innovation, that’s making our world more connected, more affordable, more efficient, and more effective.”
CNN plans to introduce a second episode of the show, titled The New Frontier, in July.
